What a 12m berth really costs in Southampton, Poole, Valencia and Palma.

The headline numbers
An annual 12m berth on the UK south coast typically runs £5,500-8,500 including VAT. In Valencia the equivalent is €3,800-5,200; in Palma, €7,000-12,000 depending on the marina and season.
What changes the number
Length is charged on LOA including bathing platform and bowsprit, so measure honestly. Beam surcharges catch catamaran owners out, and many Mediterranean marinas price summer months at a multiple of winter rates.
The wider trade-off
Cheaper Spanish berthing is often offset by flights, delivery costs and needing local trades. Work out the full annual cost of ownership before moving a boat south for the berth price alone.
